Spring is on it's way, and there is something about the promise of sunshine and opening the windows that makes me want to put on a good song and dance around the house.
I LOVE music.
New. Old. Rock. Jazz. Pop. Alternative. My ipod is full of random goodies from all different genres.
In my younger days I loved going to concerts and discovering new talented artists. I prided myself on my music knowledge and kicked ass at music trivia. But as with many things that change as you get older, I find myself with less time to spend on this hobby.
& this became especially clear when I watched the Grammy's this year and discovered that I was no longer up to snuff on the music industry.
These days I now mostly find myself constantly humming kids music.
Jack is a big fan of Yo Gabba Gabba & The Fresh Beat Band. So "Don't Bite Your Friends" and "It Was a Great Day" are a constant thread looping in my head.
Also, he loves "Firework" by Katy Perry.
Not a bad song at all, but when you listen to it over and over again it kind of wears you down.
So I decided to venture out and look for some new tunes to tap my feet to.
Ironically, I ended up finding some old ones.
New old ones...my favorite kind.
I love a good cover song.
Especially when an artist can take a good song and change it to something almost completely different.
And that's just what these artists did...
