Last week the diet gods were against me. Monday I woke up with a strained neck, Wednesday our DVR went out along with all the fitness shows I recorded and the Hubs got me a GIANT box of chocolate for Valentine's Day.
Luckily for me, I didn't do too much damage last week and am still holding steady at 165.
So it's time to actually get on with this.
I've made a few provisions to the original plan.
*My new calorie goal is between 1200-1500. As a friend pointed out 1200 is a stretch and I don't want to set myself up with unrealistic goals.
*Also, I have decided that I need some sort of motivation, so I will be paying myself to lose weight. For every pound I loose I will put $10 into an envelope. Then whatever is in there will be used for a shopping spree on my 30th Birthday. I haven't really bought myself much since I had the baby, and if I am going to be a different, smaller-hopefully, size I am going to need new clothes.
Today has been difficult, but I am trying my best. My neck is still a wee bit out of sorts, so I am giving myself this week to ease into this plan. After all, I've had shotty eating habit's my whole life. Things aren't going to change overnight. That would be nice though.
I have kept track of all the food consumed today and realized that I eat way more than I probably need to. I was bad and had a pop today, something I don't usually drink, but it's in the house, so I drink it. Now that I am calorie counting I realized why I don't keep pop in the house...at 140 calories a pop (pun intended) that cuts a serious hole in my daily caloric intake. As of right now I'm at 1100 calories, leaving me a measly 400 for dinner. I'm going to have to pay better attention tomorrow.
I did make some fat free popcorn to nosh on instead of my usual chips and dip. I figure if I can just consistently make swaps like this I'll be on the right track in no time. More to do's this week:
*Canvas my recipes and find some healthy and yummy alternatives
*DVR more fitness shows
*Get rid of the rest of the junk food in the house
As for working out...today was laundry day. So while I didn't exercise in the literal sense I did carry 2 full baskets of laundry up and down 3 flights of stairs 6 times. I also played superman with Jackson, which I'd like to think is a killer arm workout. Hopefully next week we'll see some progress.
Does anyone have any other tips/ideas for me? I'm always open to new ideas!!
