They are canceling Ugly Betty?? US weekly reported today that ABC plans to make this season the shows last. BOOOOOOOOOO!
I have been a loyal follower of the show since it began. I enjoy it because it is funny, entertaining, and it also sends a message. It shows that kindness and doing the right thing can pay off, even if it isn't always the easiest thing to do. Some may think the show is corny or unrealistic, but in the cynical world we've become it is refreshing to see a show that highlights the merits of inner beauty. I mean how many detective shows do we really need?? I love me some Law and Order and CSI, but variety is the spice of life, and Ugly Betty is unlike anything out there. So, my followers- all 7 of you- I am calling on you to visit the following site and petition to Save Ugly Betty:
The last time I was passionate about saving a show was when I was a freshman in high school and they canceled My So Called Life. I got my whole English class to write letters to ABC. Ok, maybe it didn't work, but at least I didn't go down without a fight!
In other related daily news, today was one of those wonderful days where Jackson was content and napped all day. It allowed me to get back on track with my cleaning schedule. You see I always one of those people that cleaned every few weeks or so and then wondered why it took all darn day. As my New Years resolution this year, I decided to take on a different task every day.
This is what my week looks like:
Tuesday-Clean the Bathrooms
Wednesday- Dust all rooms
Thursday- Vacuum all rooms and sweep all floors
Friday- Mop and Change the sheets
Nightly-Keep Kitchen and Living room clean, run dishwasher every night.
So far it's working like a charm, I even managed to get Kevin on board. and now I don't feel so overwhelmed when I go to clean !
This week I am also obsessed with double duty meals. Kevin made Chili on Monday and I usually feel like the generous portion goes to waste so last night i made some chili cheese nachos and tonight for dinners I am making Cheesy Hashbrown Chili Casserole. It's a Rachel Ray recipe I am modifying with the leftovers, but basically you put chili on the bottom of a casserole dish and then combing shredded cheddar cheese with store bought frozen hashbrowns and bake for 35 mins in an oven preheated at 400 degrees.
For lunch I turned the Italian Chicken leftovers I made for dinner last night into a Chicken Parm sandwich-just cut a loaf of french bread in half -I am obsessed with the Pepperidge Farm Hearth baked twin loaves-you can find them in the bread aisle- brush on some butter and sprinkle a little garlic powder on. Toast up in oven for 2-4 minutes. Add chicken, a little extra spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese and put back in the oven for 4-5 mins or until the cheese is melted. Yummy!!
Tomorrow I am going to finally get Lasik eye surgery. I have wanted it for years, and I am so excited to finally get it. I'll share all the juicy details with you all tomorrow...if I can see!!
