I finally watched the movie Julie and Julia today.
It made me want to do 3 things:
*Read Julia Child's autobiography
*Start a blog
*Eat.
If I could get Kevin to cook me up some French cuisine AND get a book/movie deal from this blog than all the better.
I am not a huge Meryl Streep fan. Mama Mia was 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. But I loved her in this movie. And although everyone I have talked to told me that Amy Adam's parts were dull, I actually enjoyed them. Overall, I liked the movie. Not good enough to make my top 10, but nothing I feel I've wasted my time on either. My only critique was at the very end.
SPOILER ALERT!!
I think the movie came to an abrupt and unfinished end. Did Julie ever hear anymore from Julia? Was Julia alive when Julie's book was published? I hate when movies cut the ending early and leave the reminder for you in the form of a written explanation. And I was especially annoyed at the very last line of this movie, when I read this:
"The book eventually was made into a movie"
DUH? Doesn't everybody who just watched the movie know that??
Mostly the movie got me thinking about finding an outlet in life. Julie parlayed her love of cooking into a blog, and eventually a career, so why can't I?
Start a blog that is...I'll leave the cooking to the professionals.
